ขับ

v. 1. to drive;

2. to drive out, to herd, to eject, to expel, to propel; 3. to fight, to struggle; 4. to recite, to sing; 5. to tease, to banter.

ขับกล่อม- to sing with pleasing or absorbing melody, to utter sweet molodius sounds;

ขับขัน, คับขัน- a difficult or perplexing position (as one requiring victory or surrender); ขับเคี่ยว- having patiently endured to the end (as bearing pain or distress without shrinking); ขับรถ- to drive a motor car or carriage; ขับร้อง- to sing or dance with instrumental accompaniments; ขับไล่- to eject with force, to turn out or expel (as from the possession of land); ขับเสภา- to sing songs of an amatory nature delivered a-solo by an actor who accompanies the melody with the clapping of castanets, the attendant band playing an intermezzo at intervals.

คุณขับรถเป็นไหม Can you drive? เขาถูกขับออกจากสมาคม He was expelled from the society.

เขาถูกขับไล่ออกไปจากบ้าน He was driven out (kicked out) of the house. เชลยถูกขับต้อนเข้าไปในค่าย The prisoners were herded into a camp. เธอเรียนการขับร้อง She studied singing.
